The Primate of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, the Most Revd Dr Thabo Makgoba has made an urgent call for prayer for the war affected Ukraine and Gaza region.

Professor Russel Botman, Rector and Vice-Chancellor of Stellenbosch University, was hailed as an inspiration following news of his death.

Stellenbosch University said goodbye to its first black rector and vice-chancellor on Saturday, as about 1 000 mourners, including former presidents FW de Klerk and Thabo Mbeki, attended the funeral service of Professor Russel Botman.
