Sermon – St Cyprian’s Langa

Archbishop Thabo Makgoba - Sermon – St Cyprian’s Langa
4th Sunday in Lent – 14 March 2010

Josh 5:9-12
2 Cor 5:16-21
Lk 15:1-3,11-32

May I speak in the name of God – the Father who reconciles us through his Son, by the power of his Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, dear people of God of St Cyprian’s Langa, it is a great pleasure to be with you this morning. Thank you, Fr Zwelibanzi, thank you Wardens and Council, for inviting me to share with you.

Today’s gospel is the familiar story of the prodigal son. We know it well. But I hope today we can look with fresh eyes, and consider the lessons it holds for us here and now, in Langa today.
