Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, Thabo Cecil Makgoba, on Tuesday congratulated the local organising committee on making the 2010 Fifa World Cup a reality.
"It is wonderful to join in the excitement that is building for the 2010 Fifa World Cup as expressed in the excitement about the Cape Town Draw. And I am certain we're heading for a successful World Cup," he said in a statement.
The soccer World Cup draw was due to take place at Cape Town's International Convention Centre on Friday.
